Sen. Kerry says Mexico strained, but is not a failed state

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

Let’s start by getting one thing straight; John Kerry, pictured below, is a liar and a total idiot; I wouldn’t believe anything he says. King Obama needs to deal with this situation and right now, because drugs are the least of our problems - terrorists are, and have been coming into this country via the Mexican border for a long time and I fear that we will pay the price for this negligence. (See article below.)

EL PASO, Texas (AP)Mexico’s government is being tested in its battle with powerful drug cartels but is not on the brink of being a failed state, U.S. Sen. John Kerry said today at a Senate field hearing about the brutal drug war that has left thousands dead.

President Felipe Calderon’s government, which launched an offensive against the cartels more than a year ago, is getting stretched thin but is strong, the Massachusetts Democrat said in El Paso, just across the Rio Grande from Ciudad Juarez.

“I am troubled by the suggestions form some quarters that Mexico is in imminent danger of becoming a failed state,” Kerry said. “Mexico is a functional democracy with a vibrate and open economy.”

Kerry, chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, was joined by Republicans John Barrasso of Wyoming and Roger Wicker of Mississippi for a hearing on what the U.S. can do to help stem the violence and …

Raid delays may signal a shift in immigration policy

Sunday, March 29th, 2009

Damn right, ICE should go after the people who are hiring illegal aliens; that being said, the illegal aliens also need to be deported and right now! Once again, look at the polls, the American people are fed up. (See article below.)

WASHINGTON — Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano has delayed a series of proposed immigration raids and other enforcement actions at U.S. workplaces in recent weeks, asking agents in her department to apply more scrutiny to the selection and investigation of targets as well as the timing of raids, federal officials said.

A senior department official said the delays signal a pending change in whom agents at U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement choose to prosecute — increasing the focus on businesses and executives instead of ordinary workers.

“ICE is now scrutinizing these cases more thoroughly to ensure that (targets) are being taken down when they should be taken down, and that the employer is being targeted and the surveillance and the …

Pelosi’s Approval Rating Takes Major Hit - It’s time to kick Pelosi and Reid out of office!

Saturday, March 28th, 2009

It’s time to kick out Nancy Pelosi (pictured below) and Harry Reid. I hope the voters have had enough and will elect conservatives with some common sense - if indeed they can find any politician with common sense! (See article below.)

Newsmax.com - House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s popularity has fallen to a new low for the year, with 60 percent of likely voters now viewing her unfavorably according to a Rasmussen Reports poll released Friday.

Even worse news for the California Democrat: A whopping 42 percent characterize her job performance as “very unfavorable.”

The trend looks bad for Pelosi as well. Just two weeks ago, 53 percent of those surveyed viewed Pelosi somewhat or very unfavorably, and her “very unfavorable” rating was 36 percent. A 7 point favorability decline in two weeks suggests Pelosi’s popularity is in a serious tailspin.

Despite this week’s rally on Wall Street, pundits say Democrats are taking it on the chin over the bad economy and the fallout over …

McCain Urges More U.S. Forces for Mexico Border - better late than never, John!

Saturday, March 28th, 2009

It’s a damn shame McCain, pictured below, didn’t do this when he was running for president - the way the majority of Americans feel about the border, he might have won. (See article below).

WASHINGTON - Republican Senator John McCain called Thursday for deploying more US National Guard troops to the southern US border to contain violence spilling over from Mexico’s fight with drug cartels.

“I support sending National Guard troops to assist with securing our southern border and stemming the flow of violence spilling over into the United States,” the Arizona lawmaker said in a statement.

McCain cited requests by Arizona Governor Jan Brewer and Texas Governor Rick Perry for help from Washington amid a “continued escalation of violence” as a result of Mexico’s drug war.

Brewer wrote US Defense Secretary Robert Gates on March 11 asking for 250 more specialized National Guard anti-drug agents.

Perry asked Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano in late February for 1,000 more National Guard and six helicopters equipped for night operations.

EXCLUSIVE: Hezbollah uses Mexican drug routes into U.S. -Wake up America, they’re coming in!

Friday, March 27th, 2009

I‘ve been screaming about this for over three years now; terrorists groups are flooding into this country via the Mexican border. I don’t know what it is going to take to have people wake up and realize the dangers of an open border. Drug smugglers will be the least of our problems when an American city is blown off the face of the earth! (See article below).

The Washington Times - Hezbollah is using the same southern narcotics routes that Mexican drug kingpins do to smuggle drugs and people into the United States, reaping money to finance its operations and threatening U.S. national security, current and former U.S. law enforcement, defense and counterterrorism officials say.

The Iran-backed Lebanese group has long been involved in narcotics and human trafficking in South America’s tri-border region of Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil. Increasingly, however, it is relying on Mexican narcotics syndicates that control access to transit routes into the …

Gang war spurs aid to Mexico border - it’s about time!

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

It’s about damn time that our “non-representing” representatives do something about the border with Mexico and do something to protect the American people. We are being lead by the most incompetent idiots in the history of this nation. Americans are getting tired of seeing corrupt politicians do more for illegal aliens than they do for the law-abiding citizens of this country! (See article below).

The Washington Times - Members of the Senate Homeland Security Committee said Wednesday that Congress needed to spend more on border security, while Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton promised Mexico $80 million worth of Black Hawk helicopters to help fight drug gangs along the U.S. border.

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano testified before the panel about her plan to rearrange resources in order to fund a crackdown on gunrunning from the U.S. into Mexico, but senators told her that was not enough. And the secretary of …

State may loosen laws on storing guns - God Bless Texas!

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

Folks in Texas love their guns, you might say it’s part of our heritage. Liberals can whine, complain, and worry about the rights of criminals; but in Texas we will keep our guns! (See article below).

AUSTIN — Texans would be allowed to stow their guns and ammo inside their locked cars or trucks while at work and parked on employer property under a controversial bill passed Wednesday by the state Senate.

The Senate voted 31-0 to prohibit employers from enforcing restrictions against employees possessing a legally owned handgun or ammunition inside a locked vehicle while in a company parking lot. Firearms and ammo must be stored out of sight.

“Here in Texas people like their firearms and … if they want to bring them to the workplace they are going to do it whether there’s an employee policy against it or not,” said state Sen. Glenn Hegar, R-Katy, the measure’s author. “This is designed to stop employers from punishing employees who legally bring weapons to work .”

Supporters say employer rules banning guns in a company parking lot infringe on their Second Amendment right and their ability to protect themselves as they travel to and …
